What is Chef OMAKASE?

Chef OMAKASE is an online platform in which you book a professional chef for a private dining experience. It allows you to enjoy a fine dining experience at your home, office and event.

How does Chef OMAKASE work?

We would ask you to select the menu, dining date, and start time. You will receive a confirmation email after the booking is complete. The chef will visit a few hours before the booked mealtime to prepare the meal to be ready on time. The chef's preparation time will depend on the number of servings and their menu. We will inform you the arrival time of your chef in advance. The chef will use your kitchen supplies and dishes. Please let the chef know where your supplies are and which plates to use upon his/her arrival. The chef will not stay until the end of lunch or dinner and have no obligation to wash dishes.

What regions do you service?

We currently provide service in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and parts of Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Please contact us for any inquiries regarding our service locations.

How much do you charge?

We provide menus for $30 ~ $320 per person. The minimum number of servings are five for Japanese and six for Sushi Omakase and other cuisines. Please notify us in advance if you have allergies and need modifications to the menus. Depending on your allergy, we regretfully may not be able to provide service.

Can I book for the same day?

We ask you to book for at least five days in advance. This is to make sure that your requested chef is available and ensure that all ingredients will be prepared on time.

How do I cancel and reschedule my booking?

To cancel or reschedule, please contact us by email. Your eligibility for a refund depends on the following status of your order:

  • More than 72 hours: Full Refund

  • Less than 72 hours, but more than 24 hours: 50% Refund

  • Less than 24 hours: No Refund

    What happens if the chef doesn't show up at booking time?

Exceptionally rarely, there may be a delay in the arrival to your chef, or Chef OMAKASE may need to cancel your booking for reasons beyond our control such as weather conditions, illness, and transportation issues. If such issues occur, we will do our best to find an alternative chef to provide service, or you will receive a full refund.

Can I modify the number of people attending?

Yes, you can modify the number of servings. Please notify us from here more than 72 hours in advance.

Who are the chefs?

Our chefs are professional private chefs, or they work at restaurants. Our team has met all chefs and experienced their delicious food. Any chef who feels ill or has been in contact with the virus will notify us immediately, and we will take the proper steps to find an alternate chef for the booking. Chefs will not handle cash or payment transactions.

Will the chef bring over plates?

We will use your plates. Please let your chef know which dishes to use upon his/her arrival. Please contact us for any further inquiries regarding plates.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes, you can send gift cards to your special people from our website! Please contact us for more information.

How does the review section work? 

Chef OMAKASE features a 2-way rating system where customers and chefs rated each other based on their dining/cooking experience. After each dinner, we will email a review form for you to rate your experience from 1 to 5 stars.
